Hi Friends! Thanks for visiting! Today I have a lovely encouragement card to share with you featuring the gorgeous Zinnia Set Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs! A Colorful Life Designs is a fabulous small, woman owned business that I recently discovered. They have a MASSIVE selection of stencils so be sure to check them out!
This card really came together in a snap and I have to say I am loving the flowers and the soft colors coupled with the dark navy and white lettering!
To start I ink blended three different distress oxides directly on the A2 size Neenah card base through the Zinnia Set Stencil. I used the colors Pumice Stone, Tattered Rose, and Victorian Velvet. I used one for each size of the flower and tried to have them form a triangle of sorts for visual appeal. Three is the magic number in design! To do the blending I used my beloved Cotton Tail Blending Brushes from The Rabbit Hole Designs and for convenience I did it on my Wendy Vecchi Art Stay-tion.
For the die cut I used the Big Friend Shadow Wafer Die from Simon says stamp. I used navy cardstock for the shadow and white cardstock for the actual letters. I also cut some navy colored fun foam out with the shadow die and attached all the pieces together for dimension. To make it easy on myself I actually backed the fun foam with two way adhesive beforehand. Liquid glue and I aren't pals. I use it of course from time to time but we just don't get along.
I stamped the other sentiment with a navy ink to match the navy cardstock. This sentiment is from the Bear Hugs Stamp Set from the stamp market.
I removed the backer from the foam and attached the sentiment directly to the card base and added a few sequins to finish the card. It really was so simple to put together but there is something about it, no? I don't know if it's the composition or the soft colors or just those stunning zinnias but I'm kind of obsessed with this card!
